Tamil film actor-cum-politician, Vijaykanth, dearly referred to as Captain, celebrates his birthday today (August 25).

Vijaykanth has graced Tamil cinema with several hits, most of which are action films. He started off his career in films with 'Inikum Ilamai' and ever since there has been no looking back. His hundredth film, 'Captain Prabhakaran' earned him the name Captain in 1991.

Some of Vijaykanth's notable movies include 'Sethupathi IPS', 'Pulanvisaranai', 'Senthurapoove', 'Vallarasu', 'Ramana' and many more.

Captain Vijaykanth is now the leader of the Opposition party, DMDK.
