The success of Ram has given a new shot of confidence to Ameer. There is a new purpose to his efforts now as he has announced his plans for his next film.

Following Ram, there were reports that he would join hands with Surya again with whom combined for his debut directorial venture Mounam Pesiyadhae.

As it happens, Ameer has begun his next venture, Kannabiran, starring actor Sivakumar's son. Hold on. It's not  Surya. Instead it is Surya's younger brother Karthik, who is working as an associate to director Manirathnam, plays the lead role. So yet another star is emerging from Sivakumar's family.

Ameer says  "I share a good rapport with Surya and whenever I visited his house, I have noticed Karthik closely. I found a good actor in him. When I asked him whether he would act, he accepted it."

The movie would go to floors soon. It may be recalled that actor Siddharth, who is a busy actor in Tollywood and also in Bollywood acting along with Aamir Khan in Rang De Basanthi, began his career as actor only while working as an associate to Manirathnam.

Following Siddharth is Karthik.

"Ram" has nothing to do with religion
