Crocodile Love story' is a movie that grabs interest, mainly due to its curious title. And naturally we were not surprised to see plenty of child viewers in theaters, to have a watch of their desi crocodile Dundee. Debutant director Anoop Ramesh tries to surprise by presenting in a crocodile amidst the staple boy meet girl love story ,  claiming the introduction of  Animatronics `for the first time in Malayalam cinema.

The movie has Praveen Prem as Kiran, a stocky  youngster  called as kittu by his close friends. One fine day as he joins the yoga classes to lessen his size, he finds Nithya Namboodhiri (Avanthika mohnan) who happens to be his close pal during childhood. The only daughter of the Bank manager , Narayanan Nambodhiri,(Ashokan) Nithya  surprisingly falls for Kiran, though her parents doesn't like the relation. They are planning to get her married to Sree(Manikuttan), the new cricketer from kerala to get into the Indian team. One fine day Nithya invites kiran to spend some time in an isolated place away from her father. They travel in Kiran's bike to a lonely place under forest department. There, they fancies the lonely island and a tree , a few  meters away from the main land. And so they catches the bamboo vessel and reaches the small island to have some romantic moments there. But little did they knew that a man eating crocodile was out there following them , to have a taste of their meat. They runs back and somehow climbs up the lonely tree, with the menacing amphibian down waiting for its chance. How they encounters this crisis forms the rest of the plot

The movie has an interesting concept by Shabari Shankar that went wrong in execution. Though the narrative has some interesting moments, like the current tastes of live streaming of all unnecessary events, the huge vessels meant for making food used for emergency transport by fire force   and the sharp shooter who waits for the certificate to know whether the animal is included in the man-eater list.  In an attempt to bring in a lot of things - a full-fledged love story, and a  satirical tale about maladministration and ill- equipped officials,  the movie crawls much in the first half with no proper direction .The scripting is lack luster and with poor dialogues, the movie also seldom move into a  a chilling man-animal encounter tale with its share of  thrills.

In the performance side,  Praveen plays his part as usual with his regular mannerisms while Avanthika is just ok for  her role. Kalabhavan Mani and Premkumar excel in their roles, while the rest of the cast just play to their roles. The technical sides are fine with cinematographer Praveen panikkar coming up with some good shots savouring the beauty of the isolated land where the couple land up for leisure. Arun Sidharth's BG scores are gripping even in most unabsorbing sequences. The animatronics `crocodile' is finer than the rest of the movie.

All in all, this crocodile love story may satisfy the kids in you and not for any bigger expectations, from big ones.
