Academy Award-nominated director Deepa Mehta's epic ‘Midnight's Children’ is all set to release in India by PVR Pictures on 1st Feb 2013.

Based on the Booker Prize winning novel by Salman Rushdie, the movie boasts of having ensemble cast of talented stars namely Satya Bhabha, Shahana Goswami, Rajat Kapoor, Seema Biswas, Shriya Saran, Siddharth, Ronit Roy, Rahul Bose, Anupam Kher, Darsheel Safary, Soha Ali Khan, Shabana Azmi and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.

Speaking on the development, CEO of PVR Mr. Kamal Gianchandani said, "Distributing Midnight’s Children is a big honor. Deepa is an exceptionally brave film maker and Midnight’s Children is a very special gem from her. We are absolutely delighted to announce 1st February 2013 as the India release date."

As the title denotes, ‘Midnight's Children’ is about two new born babies, who get switched by a nurse in a Bombay hospital at the stroke of midnight on August 15, 1947, the historical moment when India declares independence from Great Britain.

Their lives become mysteriously intertwined and are inextricably linked to India’s whirlwind journey of triumphs and disasters.
