Dhanush's 'Velai Illa Pattadhari 2' is geared up for release on 28th of this month. The film is the sequel to the 2014 blockbuster 'Velai Ilal Pattadhari' and almost all the members of the star cast of the first part have been retained in the sequel.

However the director of the sequel is Soundarya Rajinikanth while the first part was directed by cinematographer Velraj who also cranked the camera for the first part. Not just that the music director Anirudh has been replaced by Sean Roldan in the sequel while cinematographer of the sequel Sameer Thahir. M.V.Rajesh Kumar is the Editor of the first part while Prasanna GK has edited 'VIP 2'.

When IndiaGlitz quizzed about two different set of main technicians for the two films of the same franchise, this is what Dhanush had to say.

"Just for freshness. This film (the sequel) happens in a different landscape of the same world of 'VIP'. It required a different treatment. It is not possible to change me and Amala Paul because we are the characters Raghuvaran and Shalini. We cannot change any cast member as the characters are the same in the sequel also. We wanted to add things that will bring freshness to the film and that's why we opted for different technicians."

It is to be noted that Dhanush has written the story and dialogues for 'VIP 2'.
