Unsurprisingly Mahesh Bhatt's next, 'Gangster', finds itself surrounded in a controversy - FINALLY!

This Anurag Basu film was turning out to be one of those rare movies from the house of Bhatts that was looking good for a 'normal release. Normal? Because there was no controversy whatsoever with no tidbits about any alleged exposure, plagiarism, smooches etc. etc. Yes, the movie was in news for the flip-flop around whether it was based on Abu Salem's real life love story or not but then there were conflicting reports coming from different quarters. Now this aspect itself has landed the film in a controversy!

Abu Salem has gone ahead and called for the movie's release to be stopped if it is indeed based on his life. His lawyer has presented the case in the court while on the other hand Bhatt's lawyer has completely denied the film to be based on Salem's life. Court has given time to both the parties to present their case by April 12th.

'Gangster', which marks the debut of Kangana Ranaut, stars Emraan Hashmi and Shiney Ahuja in the lead and is slated for April 28 release.
