It is a known fact that Farah Khan would be making her debut as a lead actress in 'Shirin Farhad', an urban romcom, which is set in current times. The film would the directorial debut of Bela, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's sister.

Says Farah, "I have been offered roles before but they were mainly cameos where I played myself, case in point being 'Khichdi' and 'Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai' where I enacted the role of a film director. This is not the case in 'Shirin Farhad' as I get to play the title role.

Farah believes that there is some challenge up her sleeves because now she would be rubbing her shoulders with a talented actor like Boman Irani who plays Farhad in the film.

"I directed Boman in 'Main Hoon Naa' when he had just started off as an actor. I guess it's time for him to pay back", laughs Farah as she gets ready for the 'lights, camera and action', though this time on the receiving end, "I am expecting him to hold my finger when I am acting. He is the veteran here after all."

The film goes on floors this October and would be wrapped up by end of November.
