After lying low for a few months thanks to less number of releases due to various factors, especially the Assembly elections and the change of government, the box-office in Kollywood is full of activities this week,

This week-end three promising films are trying their luck in Tamil cinema. Jithan Ramesh's comeback movie 'Pillayar Theru Kadaisi Veedu', Siddharth's starrer 'Nootrenbadhu' and 'Udhayan' starring 'Vamsam' hero Arulnidhi Thamiazharasu are in the race.

Nootrenbadhu, '180' earlier and 'Nootrenbadhu' now, the film directed by Jayendra features Siddharth, Priya Anand and Nithya Menon in lead roles. Sathyam Cinemas and Aghal Films have jointly produced the film, which has music by popular Mollywood composer Sharreth.

Giving details about the film, Jayendra says, "While Siddarth is a bundle of energy, Priya Anand and Nithya Menon have given their best. All the three have cooperated well and the output is good."

The film is seeing a Saturday release, tomorrow, June 25.

Pillayar Kovil Kadaisi Veedu, Known for gifting a bundle of directors to Tamil cinema, R B Choudhary's Super Good Films is at it again with 'Pillayar Kovil Kadaisi Veedu'.

Directed by debutant Thirumalai Kishore, the movie features 'Jithan' Ramesh and Sanchitha Padukone in the lead roles. Music is by Chakri. Ramesh's role has already kindled interest in the movie.

Says the director, "He plays a fan of T Rajendhar! 'We wanted somebody different - not the common youngster who hero-worships Rajni or Kamal. So we plumped for TR. But at the same time we've been careful not to upset him."

Udhayan, After a decent debut in 'Vamsam', Arulnidhi is all set for the release of his second film 'Udhayan'.

The film directed by Chaplin has Arulnidhi and Pranitha in the lead along with Santhanam, Banu and Ashish Vidyarthi. The film has a new music director in Manikantkadri (son of sax legend Kadri Gopalnath) and there are eight songs in the album. Shruthi Haasan has crooned a number for the film which is already topping the charts.

Says director Chaplin: "Udhayan is a musical love story with a difference. It is a full-length commercial film which is narrated from a different view-point. There are enough twists and turns in the movie."
