At a time when directors from south are aspiring to go and try their luck in Bollywood, a young filmmaker is planning otherwise.

Ram, an associate of acclaimed Bollywood filmmaker Raj Kumar Santhoshi, is making his foray in Tamil with the movie Thamizh MA. The movie features Jeeva in the lead role.

In a quick chat, Ram, says, 'I am basically a Tamilian. I worked with the likes of Balu Mahendra before venturing to Mumbai to join Raj Kumar Santoshi. I worked with him in his Lajja and Pukar. Having gained the basic knowledge, I felt time has come for me to branch out'.

On Thamizh MA, Ram says, 'It is a movie that would be quite different from every-day movies. It is a performance-oriented film and the script would do the talking'.

On choosing Jeeva, he says, 'Ever since I saw Ram, I was attracted by him. His dedication, hard work and zeal to excel impressed me. Since my hero in Thamizh MA is a powerful characterization, I opted for Jeeva'.

Ram introduces a new face from Mumbai, Anupama for the movie.
