'Ilaignan', directed by Suresh Krissna starring Pa Vijay in the lead role, is fast nearing completion. According to the director, one of the highlights of the film is its script by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.

Since it is a period film set in the pre-Independence era, a huge ship has been erected by the 'Ilaignan' crew at Binny Mills in Perambur, Chennai, resembling a British vessel used in the 1940s.

"The ship is over 100 feet high and 250 feet in breadth. The massive structure has six floors and we shot some important scenes on it. Due credit should go to art director Thotta Tharani, who has given his best to the set", the director says.

"We hired 750 persons to work night and day and in three months they came up with this ship", said Thotta Tharani. The movie produced by Martin has music is by Vidyasagar. Songs were recorded using Symphony orchestra in Hungary and London.
