Very few heroes grab the attention and remain endeared to fans right from a toddler to a senior citizen like the Ilayathalapathy Vijay who enters a brand new phase in his career today. Vijay was introduced to Tamil cinema by his father director S.A. Chandrasekhar in ‘Naalaya Theerpu’ which was released on 4th December 1992. From today the Ilayathalapathy enters the magical landmark of 25th year in the industry.
Initially Vijay starred mostly in his father’s direction in films like ‘Rasigan’, ‘Deva’ and ‘Vishnu’ which made him a noticeable youngster but it was Vikraman’s ‘Poove Unakkaga’ released in the year 1996 that brought out the best in him and gave him his first super hit. Fazil’s ‘Kadhalukku Mariyathai’ which came a year later catapulted Vijay as one of the major heroes of Tamil cinema.
The rest as they say is history and through his hard work, dedication and passion towards films, Vijay has risen step by step to today, giving the most number of 100 Crore films and well on his way to becoming the next superstar of Tamil cinema. Vijay’s next release ‘Bairavaa’ has already done one of the biggest businesses that releases on Pongal 2017.
