G V Prakash, the young boy of Tamil film music has scored music for a cowboy movie. More of Western, the album is new and innovative to Kollywood. The songs with lovely and racy rhythms have been sung well by a crop of young singers.

After spelling a magic in 'Ayirathil Oruvan', Prakash has ensured that his hard earned reputation is not lost in 'Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam'. For he continues his good run in this revived genre too.

Produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram and directed by Simbhu Devan, the movie has Raghava Lawrence, Padmapriya, Lakshmi Rai and Sandhya in the cast. A glance at the film's songs:

1. Vellaikari Nee - Listen here

Singer: M K Balaji, Ramya, Bhargavi

A perfect opening to the album. A masculine song all through with rough beats and peppy score. The rap interludes are very catchy. Balaji's style of crooning suits it well. Ramya and Bhargavi chip in with their best.

2. Nenjam Nenjam - Listen here

Singer: G V Prakash, Harini, Sulabha

Prakash has proved his mastery in coming up with a groovy jazz number with himself at the helm of affairs (crooning). A pleasant feel-good mood prevails all through. Prakash's youthful rendition is the hallmark of the song. Has the potential to top the audio charts.

3. Ilanthamizha - Listen here

Singer: Tippu

A cow boy film without a song having a Caribbean touch is unimaginable. The rhythms, percussions and wind instruments make it shine bright. The lyrics are interesting and Tippu gives it solidity with his graceful singing.

4. Kanna Nee Ennai - Listen here

Singer: Bombay Jayashri, Navin Iyer, D A Srinivas

A song inspired by classical fusion sits well on our ears. Instruments like mridangam, flute and ghatam accompany the swaras well. It is about a woman yearning for her beloved that is quite striking. Bombay Jayashree impresses and walks away with all honours.

5. Raja Singam - Listen here

Singer: Rahul Nambiar, Shakthi, Bigg Nikk

The song of the album indeed. It sets the tone for the movie - that is on cow boys. The gun sounds, horses galloping all combined with easy lyrics. A number that would leave an impact with youngsters. Prakash's instrumentation is the USP.

6. War Theme - Listen here

Singer: Rahul Nambiar

A composition that provides smile and relief to the listeners. It begins in an unconventional note and proceeds the same way.

7. Irumbu - Listen here

Theme Song

Brisk trumpets played with various peppy instruments accompanying it, this one is perhaps the catchy theme number listened to in the recent times. Hats off G V Prakash.

On the whole the album has a touch of Western influence with some interesting and new sounds. Prakash has tried new stuff. Good show.
