When Iyakunar Imayam Bharathiraja was stamped as a director who could do well in rural subjects, he came out with flying colours in ‘Sigappu Rojakal’ starring Kamal. The film that had the famous Kamal-Sridevi combination in fact turned out to be a chartbuster of 80s. Now after 31 years, Bharathiraja’s son Manoj K.Bharathi is remaking the yesteryear hit.

Actor Manoj will make his directorial debut through this untitled flick which will be funded again by KRG, producer of the original version. When asked about the project Manoj said, “As of now we are working on the script, which will be shot in Hollywood style. We are holding talks with best technicians for the project. Yuvan Shankar Raja has already started tuning melodies.” Other than the theme music of the original, talks are on to retain the superhit song ‘Ninaivo Oru Paravai’ in the remake version chirped the birdies.

Sources from the directors’ close circle say that Jeevan is likely to be roped in for the very famous ultra-modern psychopath youth role did by Ullaganayagan. We will be seeing Jeevan as a software professional in this one. The father and son is busy trimming down the script to increase the speed and present a 90 minutes film.

Wonder why Jeevan is more into these playboy kinda flicks...
