After being in the industry for close to a decade, John Abraham is now stepping into a zone where he is looking at reinventing his career. While 'Force' is the first film in this direction, he is also looking at 'Shoot Out At Wadala' bringing to fore a different facet of his personality. So from playing a cop in the Nishikant Kamath directed action drama, John would be stepping into the other side of the fence by enacting the character of dreaded gangster from the 70s, Manya Surve, for Sanjay Gupta's dramatic thriller.

"John and I have talked about the film and the characterisation in detail and both of us are pretty excited to see what we bring on screen here," says Sanjay Gupta who is returning to direction half a decade after 'Zinda', "Story of Manya Surve by itself is so incredibly awe inspiring that it warrants great acting from any actor who steps into this role. Also, there is a certain physicality to this character. I am quite sure that there would quite a lot for John to do in the film as he gets into this massive transformation. I know that this is a very tall order but then I also know that John and I would be able to pull this one off."

A co-production of Ekta Kapoor and Sanjay Gupta, 'Shoot Out At Wadala' has veteran Anil Kapoor leading the cast, goes on floors in December and would be ready for release in late 2012.
