The entire Tamil Nadu state is mourning the untimely death of medical aspirant student Anita. Many student groups across Tamil Nadu have started protesting more rigorously against NEET exam, which made Anita ineligible to get a medical seat.

Director Pa.Ranjith who is one of the few film industry celebrities to directly visit Anita's village and paid last respects to her mortal remains had organised a condolence meeting for her in a Loyola college in Chennai on Sunday evening. In the meeting organised by Ranjith's organisation named Neelam. many film industry celebrities apart from social activist anti-NEET activists, doctors, journalists, and students participated.

Actors Vishal, GV Prakash, Vijay Sethupathi, Dinesh, Kaaiyarasan, Aari, Kaali Venkat, Eshwari Rao, directors Samuthirakani. Karu Palaniappan. Balaji Sakthivel, Karthik Subbaraj, Mohan Raja, Vetrimaran, S.P.Jananathan, Suseenthiran, Mysskin, Thiru, Magizh Thirumeni, and many others addressed the gathering

Vishal in his speech reiterated his promise to help the students who are affected by NEET and could not get a medical seat. He requested the students to contact him if they need financial support for pursuing medical education.

GV Prakash, who also visited Anitha's village within hours after her suicide spoke about Anita's death in the context of dropout ratio of female students in education. He said many schools lack proper toilet facilities for girls and that is one of the main reasons for female dropout ration. So his organisation has been constructing toilets for girls in Government schools.

Vijay Sethupathi said we have lost a life for the basic right called education. He said the politicians are separating us in the name of caste and hence caste should be eradicated first. He pointed out that we should change our ways of struggles to retrieve our rights since the rulers have learnt how to stop our protests. The Versatile Actor also reiterated his earlier stand that the next generation should be taught more about politics and every youngster should learn politics which is more important than knowing about cinema. He also ended his speech that the intellectuals and activist should educate people to work towards the eradication of caste which is dividing the people in this society.

Speaking last, Pa.Ranjith said " We are facing a lot of issues. We dont even have time to think about them. We talk about one issue and the next arises. We talk about the new issue and forget the old one. We keep on talking. We are not moving towards a clear solution. We keep on facing crises. We are divided as caste and religion. We have to think beyond regional and linguistic differences. We have to work for the entire human race. Only if every human being considers all other humans as equal . We have to start thinking about ourselves. Without thinking and understanding we cannot do anything with instant emotional protests. We can only create a mass. If we had thought about ourselves, we would not have lost Anita. Keep thinking. That is more important that writing in Facebook and Twitter. Only by thinking we can take forward the proper protest and we can achieve. "
