Following the release of Anniyan, actor Vikram's Maja went to floors Friday.

Quite typical to Tamil film industry, the movie went to floors in a grand muhurat held at the AVM Studios.

Since the movie is based on a rural backdrop, huge sets replicating a village was erected at the AVM Studio. Bangle shops, 'kili josiyams' and country-wood trestle seats instead of the usual furniture were erected at the venue to ring in the rural ambience.

Models dressed in traditional south Indian attire welcomed the dignitaries for the muhurat.

Almost all the glittering stars of Kollywood took part. Noted Malayalam hero Dileep, Prakashraj, Vijay, director Shafi Macartin, director Dharani and actress Asin were among those who were present.

The movie, a remake of Malayalam hit Thommanum Makkalum, will grace theatres this Deepavali.

Vikram, who is winning huge accolades for his performance in Anniyan, looked relaxed and refreshed.
