Mega son to remake Mega dad's hit?

As per an English-language daily, Ram Charan will be remaking his dad's yesteryear movie for the first time in his career.

Recently, it was reported that director Trinadha Rao Nakkina could well direct Cherry in future (that could be 2019). The daily has it that the script draws from the plot of 'Manthri Gari Viyankudu', the 1983 drama which was directed by Bapu.

If this ever happens, it will be interesting to see who will play Allu Ramalingaiah's role. There will also be debates by Mega fans about whether Charan should do this remake or instead choose more exciting films of his dad.
