He’s cool; he’s stylish. But not for long… Pratik Babbar has been asked to shed his urban image, to take up the role of a rural character for a film.

Titled ‘Milan Takies’, the film is directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and the story is about a small-town boy from UP who makes duplicate video films of famous blockbusters.

For his homework, Pratik has been asked to learn Hindi with Uttar Pradesh slang. Besides, he has been instructed to read a Hindi newspaper daily and watch Hindi plays and films with UP-Haryanvi heroes, and especially to take inspiration from Amitabh Bachchan’s character in ‘Namak Halaal’.

Initially this role was taken by Irrfan Khan, sources reveal. However during the shooting of ‘Paan Singh Tomar’, the actor fractured his ankle. As a result he was replaced by Pratik. Dhulia said to have been impressed with his performance in ‘Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na’, which made the director to offer his film to him.
