Film making is not that easy ..actor & singer turned director Nikhil Menon would have realized that by now, after his debut feature `My fan Ramu'. A movie that ends up as an average flick in all counts, this is almost an idiotic movie that may end up your interest of watching any more in theatres.

The movie has Saiju Kurup as Ramu, a cinephile, who nurtures a dream of becoming an actor some day. He is a die hard fan of young superstar Abhiram(Rajeev Pillai). But coming from a poor background, with his father still ailing to get the ends meet with his dilapidated tea stall , Ramu is also bullied by the money lender played by Guiness pakru with whom he has a lot of debts.

But accidently Ramu emerges a winner on a reality show. And the prize offered is a a chance to spend ten days with the superstar Abhiram. A chance that he couldn't ever let go, he immediately joins him for a pleasant stay but followed by his side kick played by Bijukuttan and the moneylender , who will not let Ramu free until he pays his debt back. Within hours the superstar finds it very difficult to sustain with the threesome, who hardly cares about his privacy. And in the second half the movie deviates into a murder mystery , where Abhiram is alleged to have murdered an young women. How he leaps over the allegations with the help of the three some forms the rest of the movie.

The concept of the film sounds interesting, but the manner in which the drama unfolds looks amateurish, while its interpretation by director lacks the punch, barring a few sequences in the first half. In this disastrous debut Nikhil hardly has any clues about  how to make a watchable film from this subject. With little short of the brilliance that make a Santhosh Pandit, the director juggles between low brow comedy and amateur thinking lanes. The eccentricities double with the arrival of an investigative officer and the spoofing of that Santhosh Pandit of sorts. Saiju Kurup who is considered a talented actor must definitely refrain from any writing assignments, if the suggestions offered from this product are to be believed.  There are times when fatigue sets in while watching this with too precious little to offer in terms of content.

On the performance side, Rajiv Pillai, as usual looks wooden all through, and is fine to have a crash course in an acting schools. Saiju Kurup manages to put in a fairly good show, which remains the only saving grace of the movie. The rest of the cast are poor to the worst ,  with over the top  histrionics.

On the whole, this fan of Ramu'  is a good concept gone wrong. Besides, a weak script, bizarre characters also go against it!
