The critical acclaimed and box office success of 'Sathuranga Vettai' made it a path breaking film in actor Natraj's career. However in 'Sathuranga Vettai 2', the sequel which is currently under production, Arvind Swamy has replaced Natraj even as the sequel is also being produced by Manobala who produced the first part and the sequel's story has been written by 'Sathuranga Vettai' director

In his exclusive interview to IndiaGlitz, Manobala explains why Natraj was not cast in the sequel.

"Natraj and I still have a good rapport and if I call him, he will immediately come to act in my film. Vinoth who has written the story for the film felt that there is a interesting twist in the interval and if Natraj is cast in the lead role, the intended secret will be revealed in the beginning of the film itself and that would spoil the interval block. Hence we had to go for a replacement and we have cast Arvind Swamy in the role."

Asked about Trisha's character and her relationship in the film with Arvind Swamy's character, the Manobala said "They will not unite until the end but they will work together as a pair." He also added that this film will be a milestone in Trisha's career as she gets to play a strong character in the film. "She is keen on taking up characters with scope for performance. I am sure she will remain as the top heroine for at least next ten years."

Manobala also stated that the film will be a commercial entertainer with scope for sentiment and comedy with Yogi Babu included in the star cast.

The veteran actor-director said plans are on to release 'Sathuranga Vettai 2' in June 2017.
