Katrina Kaif who is soon to appear on the silver screen with her upcoming film, 'Phantom' had a personal agenda behind taking up the project. Katrina always wanted to portray a hardcore action packed role in her films.

She had an eye for guns as well, with the actress have had enrolled herself for lessons to master shooting a gun. For Katrina, the character of 'Nawaz Mistry' was a desired role. Guns have always fascinated Katrina who had earlier visited an Army Forward Post in Rajouri district to take lessons on how to shoot a gun.

The actress has been earlier associated with films like Ek tha Tiger and Jab Tak hai Jaan, which did incorporate guns in its plot but unfortunately Katrina never did get the opportunity to fire one.

When Kabir Khan approached her, she was extremely happy as Phantom required 'Nawaz Mistry' (Katrina's on-screen character) fulfilling all her desires.

Katrina undertook months of cardio and weight training to build the stature and stamina demanded by her onscreen character.

Once shooting commenced, Katrina easily slipped into Nawaz Mistry's character.

Katrina is soon to present her daredevil act on celluloid as 'Phantom' releases on 28th August 2015.
