Despite being a sole notable release, 'Kucch Luv Jaisa' has proven to be a disaster at the box office. With just around 2 crores coming in the first week, the film has tanked in a big way and taken out of the theaters. This Shefali Shah and Rahul Bose film is nowhere to be seen in the second week and should now be out on the home video soon. Failure of 'Kucch Luv Jaisa' has only further broken that myth that 'small films' guarantee definite returns. Adding to countless low budget films that have failed to make an impression this year so far, 'Kucch Luv Jaisa' has contributed to the red report card for Bollywood.

On the contrary medium budgeted 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' has turned out to be a successful venture after all. The film has shown the best sustaining power for a film this year with a fall of mere 30% from its last week. Yes, the first week wasn't great by all means but considering the poor first day that the film had suffered from, it is amazing to see the word of mouth carrying the film so far despite not even a single known name featuring in the cast or crew.

At last count, the film has collected 9 crores with 3.5 crores coming from the second week. 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' is commercially an average success but perception wise a hit for the audience. Despite the fact that it is 'Ready' which is occupying screens all over, 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' is doing fine in limited engagement with enquiries still coming from audience. It would be quite interesting to see how receptive are multiplexes to the film once 'Ready' enters its second week. The Salman Khan starrer would obviously see reduced shows though there are four new films hitting the screens as well. It would be only justified if 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' gets a better playing time for itself.
