Getting ready for the release of 'Poraali', director Samuthirakani will start the Hindi version of the film immediately after the Tamil original hits the screens. "An opportunity has come to direct the movie in Hindi. Talks are currently on and an official announcement will be made soon," he says.

Confirming the release of the film in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously in the first week of December, the actor-director says, "My good friend Sasikumar has produced Poraali under his production banner, besides playing the lead role. I am sure that the movie would make him feel proud."

Recently, Sasikumar hit the headlines after making an announcement that he would not release the film in Sri Lanka, considering the plight of Tamils living there. "Tourism and cinema are the two important income channels of Sri Lanka. Let's take a bold decision to cut one of them. We shall not make money in the island nation when our brothers and sisters are suffering."

Requesting others in the industry too to take a similar stand, Sasikumar added: "When the government there allows Tamil movies only after deleting pro-Tamil dialogues, why should we release our films there. It is true that a part of our revenue will get affected by not releasing Tamil films in Lanka. But we should take this decision to protect our self esteem."
