When Anand was released, nobody was ready to talk about. But now that the film is a hit, people cannot stop speaking about it.

And apart from the director Sridhar Kammula (he is going to release in Hindi, too), the other one who has got a push on in his career is the hero Raja.

He feels like his name --- a king, that is. "I think I have made it,”says the young actor.

His career was going nowhere after the dud Kala. He did a small role in Arjun. He also did redeem himself in Appudappudu.

But he was desperate. So when Shekhar Kammula met him at restaurant and offered this role, he just grabbed it with his two hands.

'Though I hadn’t seen Kammula’s previous film Dollar Dreams I knew he was a director with a difference. His style of making a film is unique. That was enough reason for me to sign on.”

The rest if not history is at least something close to it.

Raja says: “I have always wanted to be an actor. But I couldn’t handle the rejection of the audience in one film after the other.

The time away from the limelight was “difficult and hard. But I was confident that success would be mine”.

His faith has now paid off. He is currently doing Naluguru, playing the role of Rajendra Prasad’s elder son. Raja is also signing two big banner films.
