Filmmaker and Superstar Rajinikanth's younger daughter Soundarya has been granted divorce with husband Ashwin, with whom she entered wedlock in the year 2010.

Soundarya had formally applied for the divorce in a Chennai based Family court in December 2016. The estranged couple have a son named Ved, who has been brought up by Soundarya.

On the professional front, Soundarya is busy with the post-production of her second directorial venture 'VIP 2', scheduled to hit the screens on July 28, 2017. The film stars Dhanush, Amala Paul and Kajol in lead roles.
