The once taboo topic of egg freezing is now taking center stage as Bollywood actors and Tollywood beauties like Mrunal Thakur and Mehreen Pirzada openly share their experiences with the process. Mrunal, who is known for her role in "Sita Ramam," recently announced that she is considering the option of freezing her eggs. This medical procedure involves extracting and storing eggs, effectively halting their aging process. These influential personalities' public expressions shed light on the importance of reproductive autonomy and family planning in today's society.

Following Mrunal's announcement, Mehreen Pirzada, famous for her performances in blockbusters like "F2" and "F3," shared her own egg-freezing journey on social media in a heartfelt and candid video. She spoke about her decision-making process and the emotional and physical challenges she faced, demystifying the procedure and emphasizing the need for open conversations.

In her post caption, Mehreen emphasized the significance of safeguarding reproductive options and making informed choices about fertility, particularly in a world where marriage and motherhood timelines are becoming more elastic. Her openness and courage in sharing her story resonates with countless women navigating similar choices, creating a supportive community around reproductive health.

Mehreen shared her egg freezing journey on her Instagram account. She posted "*MY EGG FREEZING JOURNEY: Mehreen Pirzadaa*

After 2 years of trying to make up my mind to go through this process I’m so happy that I finally did it I was contemplating whether to share something so personal or not. But then I thought to myself that there are so many women like me who haven’t yet decided when to get married or have a baby and I think it’s very important to safeguard yourself for the future. I think all women should do this to avoid complications later on. We don’t talk about this much as it is considered to be a “taboo” topic. With the help of technology, we are able to make better decisions for ourselves so why not? It’s my dream to become a mother and I didn’t want to throw it away just because I was a few years late. Did it hurt? Sometimes. Was it challenging? A lot. Especially for someone like me who has a phobia of needles, blood and hospitals. I faint everytime I go to a hospital The constant emotional turmoil that you’re going through because of all the hormonal injections is not easy. But if you ask me - was it worth it?? HELL YES!

Whatever you chose to do, just do it for you

A big thank you to my gynaecologist Dr. Rimmy @radiance_hospital for constantly being there for me, my mom for always being there by my side - you are a Wonder Woman @rooh_meetingsouls , my baby brother @gurfatehpirzada for his endless support and always trusting me in my decisions and my friends for their constant support that I’ll get through this with flying colours."

The increasing conversations around fertility indicate that egg freezing is not just about delaying motherhood; it's also about empowering women to take control of their futures. Mrunal Thakur and Mehreen Pirzada's transparency and bravery in discussing their experiences encourage others to consider the possibilities offered by modern reproductive technologies, ensuring that no woman feels limited by societal norms or biological constraints when it comes to family planning.
