Rajni's refusal paved way for Kamal's entry

Indiaglitz, first broke the news of Ulaganayagan Kamlahassan reprising the role of Mohanlal, the Malayalam superstar, in the Tamil remake of the laletten's recent super hit film Drishyam. Jeethu Joseph who directed Lalettan, one of India’s much acclaimed actors, in this critically acclaimed film is second time lucky for calling shots for Kamalhassan, who is equally acclaimed as great actor and also a renowned director.

The film is also being remade in Telugu with Venkatesh playing the lead role and Joseph is directing the Telegu version as well. Plans are underway to take the script to Bollywood.

Meanwhile Jeetu Joseph has told in a recent interview that his initial choice for playing the role of George Kutty a father of two teenage girls was Superstar Rajnikanth. Superstar, who has recently completed his part in the film Kochadiiyaan directed by his younger daughter Soundharya is said to have heard the script narrated by Joseph and liked it. However the star had apprehensions about the few scenes since he felt that they may not be suitable for the liking of Tamil audience. Hence he politely refused the offer.

After that, Joseph narrated the script to Kamalhassan. The star who is currently busy shooting Viswaroopam 2, the sequel to his 2013 super hit film Viswaroopam is said to have liked the script and instantly gave the nod to star in it.

Joseph also said that, Kamal who is also a renowned script writer, has assured that he will make a few suitable changes in the script. Joseph ended his interview stating that he will sit with the multi-talented star and finalize the changes in the script very soon.
