Munnabhai Director Raju Hirani is on cloud nine. With scores of cine going public as well as many of the critics labeling his film as the best film of the year, Mamu Tumhari To Nikal Padi. The trade has given it a thumbs up and except for North where the Multiplex crisis has yet not been resolved, ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ has had an opening as huge as 90% in most centers.

Apparently Sanjay Dutt has seen ‘LRMB’ twenty times already and has arranged for more screenings for his friends and well wishers. With the verdict on 1993 Bomb Blast set to be out on September 12th, it remains to be seen if Sanju Baba has a twin reason to celebrate. It is being said that he has given the idea for the next Munnabhai sequel. If the second one was all about Munnabhai meets Mahatma Gandhi, the next one may be Munnabhai going to Amreeka and he and Cricuit having a tryst with no less than George Bush.

Matinee star of yesteryears Rishi Kapoor saw ‘Lage Raho…’ the other day in a cinema hall and absolutely loved the film. He immediately fixed up a meeting with Raju Hirani and offered him a film for RK Banner with son Ranbir Kapoor in lead. Although Raju was deeply honoured but he is in no mood to direct for any other banner other than Vidhu Vinod Chopra as he feels Vinod gives him complete freedom to do his own thing. But Hirani has agreed to Rishi’s second offer and Ranbir is going to be a part of Raju Hirani’s next film, the script for which will be ready by December.

Incidentally, if the grape-wine is to be believed then apna Circuit Arshad Warsi has hiked his price to an unbelievable Rs 2 crore. Well, with two spectacular hits like ‘Golmaal’ and ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ up his sleeve, he can ask for whatever he wants. It remains to be seen whether anyone agrees to pay him that amount. All that we can say is that Arshad Warsi rocks in ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’, has the best lines in the first half of ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ and somehow the second half didn’t do justice to his talent as he was more or less eclipsed. Never mind Mamu…You are entering the best phase of your career. So just hold on to your guns.
