Deepika Padukone has entered the 200 crore club with 'Chennai Express' and her film has also surpassed the record of '3 Idiots'. In the process, she has also managed to score a remarkable feat of appearing in three films this year, the collective total of which (just in India) is fast reaching the 500 crore mark.

"With 'Chennai Express' (200 cr+), 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' (~180 cr) and 'Race 2' (100 cr+), Deepika is just a few crores short of reaching the 500 crore milestone. No heroine, or for that matter even a hero, has ever done that before in the history of Indian cinema," comments a source.
No wonder, her forthcoming films are being considered to be super-hot in the trade circles.

"She has 'Ram Leela' and 'Kochadaiyaan' coming up in the last quarter of the year. Incidentally both have backing from Sunil Lulla of Eros. While 'Ram Leela' has Sanjay Leela Bhansali associated with it, 'Kochadaiyaan' is a dream project of Aishwarya, Rajnikanth's daughter. All attached to these films have reasons to be elated since Deepika's presence has made these further hot both inside and outside the industry," the source adds.
With both the films expected to generate further business of at least 200 crores, Deepika's tally towards 2013 end is expected to read a cool 700 crores at the least. Now that's one feat which could well remain unparalleled for at least some time to come.
