While Rana seems to be quite content in his professional life with 'Department' promising to bring him in good light all over again, personally too he has been going great guns, what with rumours around his 'special friendship' with Bipasha Basu catching good heat. Though he is tight lipped around the whole affair and is continuing to maintain 'we are good friends stance', he has been enjoying the best of both worlds with films down South in Telugu helping him expand a fan base as well.

With added female attention coming from Hindi filmgoers as well, one has all the right reasons to believe that Rana is living a charmed life.

"Of course it feels very nice. What is surprising and something that I really like a lot is that such attention is coming in despite the fact that the films I have done are very genre based. Still, it's a great feeling of acceptance that sets in when you find that there is actually a section of female audience out there that has liked these films," says Rana.

Since 'Department' is also an all-men affair with Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt heading the cast and no real scope for Rana to romance his on-screen love, the Hyderabadi hunk is confident that his female fans won't really mind.

"Whether it was 'Dum Maaro Dum' or my South films, they haven't been those mainstream romcom films that girls usually like. Guess the going would only get better when a quintessential romcom comes next," grins Rana before signing off.
