After giving a blockbuster like ‘Robo’, director Shankar thought of remaking a successful Bollywood film ‘3 Idiots’ in Telugu and Tamil languages.

Though, Maheshbabu was approached to play the lead role, he refused to play hero as the film had more number of Tamil artistes in it and several film personalities were averse to such films in Telugu.

After that, Suriya had agreed to work with Shankar and the film is likely to hit the floors in February at a college in Kashmir. The film is being made simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu languages.

Sriram and Jeeva agreed to play the remaining two lead roles in the movie. Satyaraj, a veteran artiste in Tamil would play the role of Veeru Sahasrabuddhi played by Boman Irani in Hindi.

Gemini Film Circuits is producing the film while Harris Jayraj would score music. Abburi Ravi would be the dialogue writer for the Telugu version.
