"I am against remixes," says music composer S S Kumaran of 'Poo' fame, who is riding high on a success wave thanks to the recently released 'Kalavani'.

"When I agree to work in a film, I would spell it out clearly that I would not do remix numbers. I sincerely feel the original music should not be tampered with," he says.

"I grew up listening to maestro Illayaraja's songs," the music director says and adds: "Today I have won the appreciation of his admirers. It is a delight."

On his forthcoming films, Kumaran says, "I have worked in movies like ‘Virunthali’ and ‘Nellu’, which are ready to hit the screens. Besides I am composing tunes for movies including Kalingathu Bharani, Sigappu Kambalam, Chinnakadai Theru Palani. I want my songs to be different from each other."

Happy about the success of 'Kalavani', he says, "I was tensed working for ‘Kalavani’. I took my own time after ‘Poo’ to chose a right script. The movie has become a huge hit and the song “Damma Duma” has become a rage. I am extremely thrilled and there is a huge responsibility on my shoulders to repeat the act in my forthcoming films."
