Remaking Tamil films has become a fad in B-town and joining this bandwagon will be Shahid Kapoor who will be seen in the Hindi remake of Tamil super hit ‘Vettai’, featuring R. Madhavan and Arya.

Lingusamy who directed the original and who is acclaimed for knowing commercial cinema like the back of his hand will be directing the Hindi version as well and the film will go on floors shortly. It is said that the film was recently screened for Shahid and the actor gave his nod for this family entertainer.

Now it is said that Shahid will be essaying the lead role (that of Arya's) in the Hindi version. In fact, it is further said that Shahid rescheduled his dates to fit in this film. A hunt is on by the makers for the second lead, essayed by Madhavan aka Maddy in the original. The actor played a timid police official and the elder brother of Arya. Sameera Reddy was paired opposite Maddy in the original.

'Vettai' is about two brothers and two sisters who fall for one another and is a high voltage action entertainer loaded with romance, comedy and sentiment.

Earlier rumours were rife about Shahrukh-Imran Khan and Salman Khan-Ranbir Kapoor playing the brothers' roles.
