Poor Shriya. This is not the first time Shriya has landed in a controversy in Chennai. Earlier, she did a smooching scene for the Tamil version of Varsham and had to put up with bad press.

Now, she is in the thick of yet another controversy for her fashion faux pas. She has apologized profusely and swears that she will never ever wear such clothes to public functions again.

Little did she expect the spate of criticism for turning up at a special function held at the University of Madras in a knee-length dress with plunging neckline.

Last heard, she is still in shock over the sudden controversy she has landed herself in. After getting enough flak for being inappropriately dressed, Shriya maintains that she did not deliberately walk into the function skimpily clad.

It seems the Dilli kudi was shooting for Mission Istanbul in Tanjore and had to rush from the location to attend the function in Chennai.

As she didn’t have time to change, she came along in the dress she was wearing for the shoot and had been the subject of ire of some organizations, which insist she has utter disregard for Tamil and Hindu values.

Our Chennai bureau tells us that Shriya has apologized profusely for any misunderstanding caused due to her behaviour and said that it was purely unintentional.
