Shruti Haasan has been quite unreachable. She got her due in Telugu with Gabbar Singh (2012) after a couple of damp squibs. Despite that, she didn't wish to capitalize on her popularity in Tollywood unlike a Rakul Preet Singh or a Samantha. She has been extremely choosy (perhaps to a fault) even after scoring a hat-trick in recent times - Yevadu, Race Gurram, and Srimanthudu.

Anyone else would have been on a rampage. Not Shruti. In this entire year, she will have only one straight Telugu release: Premam. For someone who has been lucky opposite the likes of Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun and Ram Charan, doing with just Premam that stars a Naga Chaitanya, is surprising.

On the other hand, in Tamil, she has a film lined up with Suriya (Singham 3). In an industry where she hasn't made it big, that is, Bollywood, she has two releases this year - namely, Rocky Handsome and Yaara. She thanklessly walked out of Oopiri/Thozha in the last minute, leaving Nagarjuna, PVP and Vamshi Paidipally hurt.

Is she dreaming big? Is it because she doesn't want to be stuck with Southern films that Shruti didn't do the bi-lingual? Only time will tell whether her big gamble will pay off.
