Ace Malayalam film star Sreenivasan is not worried about his image or his market value when it comes to selection of roles. "Since I don't have an image to be worried about, I am not concerned about it when it comes to selection of my roles. You should know that there are heroes here who are unduly worried about each role they portray," said Sreenivasan while speaking with reporters after his latest film "Yes Your Honour" was screened here on Sunday.

Apart from being a versatile actor, playing both comedy and serious roles with ease, he is a prolific scriptwriter with immense mass pull and has also directed a few films that became mega hits and fetched many awards, one including the award for best film.

"My ambition in life is to be associated with a good film. And I feel that a writer has a more important role to play for the society than an actor," said the veteran star.

Sreenivasan who has been in the industry for the last three decades has been playing a second fiddle to superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal for several years. Occasionally he appeared as independent heroes in films which also made good mass appeal. And now Sreenivasan feels it is time to settle as an actor and a writer than to be again in a director's chair.

"I am more comfortable in the actor's and writer's role than a director's. I am getting old and I feel out of place saying start, action and cut through the microphone," he said.
