Director S.S.Rajamouli's epic film 'Baahubali 2:The Conclusion' has created a new history as the first ever Indian film to collect Rs.1000 crores worldwide. The film is also fast inching towards the magical 1000 crore mark in Indian territory itself. Now we get to learn about the fantabulous box office records made by this Indian film in the US box office.

The world renowned US based magazine, 'The Wall Street Journal' has published an analytical report about the performance of 'Baahubali 2' in the country. The report notes that the film that opened on April 28, 2017 has achieved the third highest opening collection of $10.3 million in the American box office beating Hollywood features such as Dream Animation's 'Boss Baby' and Tom Hanks starrer 'The Circle'.

The first place in terms of collections in that weekend was retained by 'Fast & Furious 8'. But the film was screened in 4,077 screens with an average of Z$4,890 per screen. Whereas 'Baahubali 2' was screened only 425 screens and collected $24,364 per screen.

Apart from this, 'Baahubali 2' is the third largest opening for a foreign language film in the US box office after Chinese film 'Hero' (2004) and Jet Li's 'Fearless' (2006).

The film also achieved the biggest IMAX opening for a foreign language film in USA. It was screened in as many as 45s IMAX theaters catering to a large Indian audience.

As on date the collections made by 'Baahubali 2' has crossed $16 million while it is expected to get more and more in the coming days even though it has been largely replaced by 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' in many IMAX screens despite its brilliant performance.

This big success can be mainly attributed to the increase in the disposable income of Indians who constitute 1% of the total American population. This has resulted in a large hike in the fan base and demand for Indian films especially the Hindi. Telugu and Tamil ones that are highly anticipated in India.

The success of 'Baahubali 2' may well open the doors for the expansion of release of Indian films in USA. The success has not only benefited the producers and distributors of 'Baahubali 2' but also the Indian film industry.
