USP of 'Ragini MMS 2' being Bollywood's take on 'horrex' [horror + sex] genre seems to have delivered what was promised. If the theatrical promo is any indication, expect some groans and moans in good measure, with some chill factor introduced as well, what with Sunny taking care of the sex quotient and director Bhushan Patel ensuring that the horror element is well maintained too. For a film which just started off as a one off affair, 'Ragini MMS' has pretty much justified a franchise in the making, what with the sequel creating a very good first impression.

There are certain set expectations that a Sunny Leone starrer carries, with skin show being an elementary part of affair. Well, the makers seem to have kept that pretty much in mind, hence ensuring there is enough erotic quotient placed in the horror affair, with Sunny getting it right. The kind of effortless ease that she displays in the promo which doesn't have a single blink through moment, it pretty much establishes that what one has seen of hers in the earlier Bollywood assignments was just a glimpse.
Of course the kind of portrayal that Sunny had come up with also means that the film would have its own target audience. Hence, the makers (Balaji) are touting it to be the 'hottest date movie of the season'. With an eye firmly on youth, it is a classic mix of sex and horror that has been interspersed into the narrative.
All of this means that whether it is Sunny stripping herself, walking the corridor in bare minimum, baring it all in a pool, getting seductive under a shower (what she does in there could well be a first for a mainstream Bollywood movie) or making love with Parveen Dabas, one can well expect audience to be excited enough with what plays on screen.
Thankfully, Bhushan seems to have kept the franchise factor in mind as well while telling the tale as a true blue sequel. Hence Kainaz Motivala returns from 'Ragini MMS' and pretty much places the warning around the spirit that haunted her in the first installment. There is a connection between the two parts built as well. Moreover, some intrigue factor comes in too, what with presence of Divya Dutta and Anita Hassanandani adding on to the mystery.
Since the film is pretty much being presented as a hold no bar affair, there is ‘language’ bit thrown in for good measure, something which was expected out of the genre as well as the audience (youth) that 'Ragini MMS 2' is aiming at.
In the times when a film has to make a first quick impression at the very onset, 'Ragini MMS 2' has pretty much done the job. Turning out to be a contender for one of the hottest mainstream films to hit the screens, expect the film to raise quite a few debates and discussions en route to its theatrical arrival.
