Tharun Gopi in ‘Jeeva Poonga’

It seems Tharun Gopi is on an acting spree. For the filmmaker is currently playing the lead in three films, with the latest addition being ‘Jeeva Poonga’, directed by C Alagappan of ‘Vannathupoochi’ fame.

Produced by M Sundaravaradan for Vekkali Amman Movies, the film would have musical score by D Imman. A search is on for the heroine.

Says Alagappan, “‘Vannathupoochi’ is a film for kids. But ‘Jeeva Poonga’ is a movie for everyone in the family. It is a commercial entertainer with necessary ingredients to woo the masses.”

On zeroing in on Tharun Gopi for the lead role, he says, “the script demanded it. Tharun Gopi’s boy next door looks fits well to the protagonist character of the movie. Also, he stunned everyone with his performance in ‘Mayandi Kudumbathar. Hence the choice.”

‘Jeeva Poonga’ would go on floors soon. Attempts are being made to release the movie by early 2010.
