Vadivelu is facing a situation something similar to that the characters he play in films would normally face. The comedian has been receiving threats non-stop ever since the elections results were announced, for his no-holds-barred poll campaign.

On Monday evening, a 30-member gang allegedly threatened the security guard and threw stones at Vadivelu’s farm house near Padappai, a small town on the Tambaram-Oragadam Road.

Quoting the police, sources said the gang from Pushpagiri near Padappai visited the farm house and started throwing stones at his house. The group members told the security guard to vacate the area, as the farm house was located on a poramboke land.

Meanwhile, a complaint has been filed with the Director General of Police on behalf of Vadivelu, demanding action against those who were threatening him with dire consequences. “Doing election campaign in favour of a political party is my client’s right,” Vadivelu’s advocate said.
