After casting aliens and animals in leading roles, India's prolific Hindi film industry has struck upon the innovative idea of making a car the hero of an upcoming movie.

Inspired by the classic Disney movie, "Herbie - The Love Bug", noted Bollywood director duo Abbas-Mastan has made a similar flick but promises it is different.

"The movie 'Taarzan - The Wonder Car' is a thriller and a love story that has the car in the lead role," Abass told a news conference here Wednesday.

"The idea to make a film on a car came from the Hollywood flick 'Herbie - The Love Bug' that we watched as children. But Taarzan is totally different," he said.

In a one of its kind initiative in India, the film revolves around a car "Taarzan", a hero on four wheels that can do everything a Bollywood hero does, except sing and dance with the heroine.

"Bollywood has not yet experienced any mainstream movie based on a machine. It is a very different movie. The car is a Tarzan in concrete form," said Mastan.

The "wonder car" is the creation of leading car designer Dilip Chhabria's mind and imagination. It was designed over a period of nine months.

Chhabria's DC Design brand is immensely popular in the country and is associated with creating stunning automobiles.

"It was named so because children can associate it with the classic jungle man. And it is no less than Tarzan," said Mastan. Aimed at youngsters, the movie has a lot to offer apart from the riveting wonder car.

"The film was made keeping in mind the fact that youngsters crave for cars. Watching the movie will give them the same adrenaline rush as driving this car," said Abbas.

Produced by Gordhan Tanwani, the movie stars newcomers Vatsal Sheth and Ayesha Takia in the lead role. Sheth, who plays Raj in the film, said: "The USP of the film is the Abass-Mustan tag, and of course the car.

"It is a movie which stars two heroes in the lead role - the wonder car and me."

Takia, looking stunning in a black top, gushed: "The film is a new concept and has a beautiful story line that will hold the audience to their seats."

Takia plays the character of Priya, a vibrant, young and fashion conscious energetic girl who falls in love with Raj. Himesh Reshmia of "Ajnabee" and "Humraaz" fame has composed the film's music.

If industry rumors are to believed, one can also catch a glimpse of Ajay Devgan in the film scheduled for released Aug 6.
