Eagerly awaited Aamir Khan starrer "Rang De Basanti" will open a day earlier in Britain than the worldwide release date, which is Jan 20.

UTV's International Distribution Division has decided to open with select exclusive previews across Cine World, Vue and Odeon-UCI cinemas on Jan 19.

The publicity and word-of-mouth in Britain is pretty robust with the Daler Mehndi rendered 'Rang de basanti' track emerging on the popularity charts.

The film is about awakening and standing up for ones beliefs where the spirit of rebellion transcends time and age.

The script revolves around a young idealistic English filmmaker who comes to India to make a film on Indian revolutionaries Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad and their contemporaries and their fight for freedom from the British Raj.

Owing to a lack of funds, she recruits students from Delhi University to act in her docu-drama.
