Rituparno Ghosh is popular for making serious and matter of substance cinema. His last films Raincoat and Chokher Bali were popular among the audience that vouches for serious content. His next is the remake of the old time classic Sahib Biwi aur Ghulam. And guess what, this time there is no Aishwarya Rai in the film.

He has signed the timeless Vidya Balan for the role of Jaba (originally played by Waheeda Rehman). The film is to be produced by Pritish Nandy Communications. It also stars Priyanka Chopra and Salman Khan. Rituparno Ghosh is known to be taken by the innocence and timeless charm of the Parineeta star.

Balan on the other hand appreciates the director for his national award winning works. She is delighted to work with him. There was another story making rounds of the bollywood circuit. It is known that Shiney Ahuja (Hazaro Khwahishen Aisi fame) was to play Bhootnath in the film.

This news was dismissed by the director when he recently said that Shiney is not his Bhootnath. He has instead approached John and things would be finalized soon. He is also working out his dates with Balan. Well let's hope for the best.
