“My next film may be a comedy,” said Onir at the Press Conference to mark the acquisition of his film ‘Bas Ek Pal’ by Sahara One Motion Pictures at the eleventh hour. “I have Hamlet on my mind too, but not now, maybe later,” the director added. The Press Conference was attended by some of the cast members Urmila Matondkar, Sanjay Suri, director Onir, Producer Shailesh and CEO, Sahara Motion Pictures Shantanu Aditya (Jimmy Shergil, Juhi Chawla and Rehan Engineer were conspicuous by their absence). On being asked if this acquisition has taken place because Urmila is doing the ‘Superstars’ show at Sahara One, Mr Shantanu Aditya conceded to it partly, but quickly added that ‘Bas Ek Pal’ is an interesting project and that Sahara would like to be associated with Onir in the future as well.

‘Bas Ek Pal’ is releasing on September 15th and the reports of the film are very positive. The cast including Sanjay Suri, Urmila Matnodkar, Jimmy Shergil, Juhi Chawla and Rehaan Engineer are engrossed in complex relationships highlighting urban sensibilities. The music of the film is on top of the charts and is easily one of the best scores to have come out this year. A special mention for lyricist Amitabh Verma, who has written some quality lines throughout the album. Watch out for this dude. In fact Urmila loves the music so much that she has three CDs (One for car, one for bedroom and one for the living room). Ask her about her forthcoming films, she waves her hands and in a poetic manner she replies: “Let’s not talk about anything else….Abhi Ke Liye…Bas Ek Pal.”
