Earlier rumours were buzzing around the alleged tiff between the actor and the ace filmmaker. Then the grapevines had caught up the two in a discussion. Here’s as to why…

Ram Gopal Varma has approached Ranbir Kapoor to act in his next venture that is said to be a remake of a 1984 Hollywood flick ‘Romancing The Stone’. “We have met and ‘Romancing The Stone’ was one of the ideas that we exchanged. Ranbir seemed enthusiastic about it. But it won’t exactly be like ‘Romancing The Stone’. Only the core of its idea will be taken,” said RGV. The project is expected to start rolling next year.

‘Romancing The Stone’ is a romantic-fantasy adventure, starring Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner. It is based on a love story between a romantic lady novelist and a solider. Joan Wilder, who travels to South America in search of her kidnapped sister, finds herself stranded in the jungles. There she finds help in the form of the soldier of fortune Jack Colton. The two go through a number of adventures, deal with the bad guys and end up falling in love.

Incidentally, Ramu had plans to bring adapt Robert Zemeckis’s ‘Back To The Future’ with Shahrukh Khan, which is based on time-travel saga. However, the director later said to have dropped the plans.
