A student Ram Reddy, who hails from the Karim Nagar region, has claimed Adhurs' story to be his own. He approached the members of Joint Action Committe at Osmania University and complained that he had narrated the story to Junior NTR on the 15th of June, 2008.

He said that NTR had liked the story, but asked him to hand over the script to his assistant Jeevan. He also warned that if he was not given fair justice, he will sit for a dharna in front of NTR's residence.

As the student hails from the Telangana region, he reportedly approached the JAC, hoping to get some succor. The legitimacy of his claims are yet to be established, though.

It is to be seen if the controversy will be settled.
