Vikram Bhatt has enjoyed one of the most eventful years of his career. His 'Raaz 3' turned out to be a superhit, '1920 Evil Returns' is a clean success, 'Hate Story' was the surprise package of the year and the only disappointment was 'Dangerous Ishhq' which was Karisma Kapoor's comeback vehicle.

Now that's quite a comeback for the filmmaker who has been on a roll since the release of '1920'. The film had pretty much brought him back in the reckoning, especially since his career had hit rock bottom with no box office success for the longest period after he suffered ten flops in a row.

"I agree", Vikram is quick to acknowledge, "In fact 'Speed' was one film which was the lowest point in my career. It was made with bad intentions as my sole driver to do it was money. Even the producers had made the film as they were getting good subsidy for the London shoot. Actually just about no one had any honest intentions to do the film and it was doomed in its very inception. Fail toh hona hi tha!"

No wonder, he seems to be quite candid about his failures.

"That's because the failure I faced was very important for me to change as a director and a person. After 'Speed', I gave up everything for a year and a half so that I could concentrate on just making '1920'. I had corrupted myself in the interim period and had to find a way into doing something that I was good at.

I guess my roller coaster ride could well be a lesson for every person that it is easy to resurrect your career if you know where you have gone wrong and are willing to rectify it."

Guess the rectification is pretty much in progress, what with a successful stint bringing him back in the reckoning and now a five movie deal with Bhushan Kumar all set to unfold in months to come.
