Mallika Sherawat claims not to know Neha Dhupia, but the latter says their acquaintance goes back to their modelling days.

Reacting to Mallika's catty comment, Neha of "Julie" fame told IANS: "I'm glad at least someone doesn't know me. But I'd like to rustle Mallika's memory.

"We know each other from our modelling days. In fact, for one contest we even travelled together, and she was generous enough to give me a ride. I can never forget that. I never forget a good turn."

One good deed that Neha is extremely happy about is director Deepak Shivdasani signing her for "Julie".

"The entire film from its conception to execution is his doing. If it wasn't for him I'd have given up and perhaps given up."

Neha admits her debut in "Qayamat" was pretty much disastrous. "But now after 'Julie' I'd like to team up with Ajay Devgan again for a film. I feel more confident now and more capable."

One thing that she's completely sure about is that Neha won't fall into the sleaze trap.

"'Julie' hasn't been perceived as a sleazy film, and I'm grateful for that. Now I've to watch my moves very carefully. Because if there are people to support you, there're also those who'd like nothing more than to see you fall."

No more roles that require her to take off her clothes. "Yes, that's for sure. I wouldn't want to be stuck in one image."

Unlike Mallika Sherawat's "Murder", "Julie" has also been appreciated by women audiences. "And I'm grateful for that. I feel for a film to be accepted, women have to take to it. It's the women who bring the rest of the family in.

"Before the release I kept saying 'Julie' isn't a sleazy, men-only film. Thank god the audience agreed with me. Otherwise I'd have ended up looking a bit silly."
