The last 48 hours everybody from Bollywood right from HNY team, SRK office, the Bachchans and of course the overenthusiastic media has being kept busy thanks to an honest opinion by a extremely talented actress and wife of B-town living legend Amitabh Bachchan - Jaya Bachchan.

We have found out the facts and the truth here what has actually happened

The Fact

Jaya Bachchan at the 5th Tata Literature Live! Session in her conversation with a writer - Siddarth Dhanavant Shanghvi on the confluence of literature and cinema did say Happy New Year being nonsensical`

Unfortunately prominent media highlighted the sensationalism in the statement without finding the truth with their own twist and turn.

The Truth

Like any individual and citizen of India Jaya had exercised her right to express her views and she did that honestly.

Actually Jaya said there are two types of cinema that exist in India - those based on literary works and those that are pure entertainment. She enjoyed both these kinds of films (sensical and nonsensical). She gave the example of Amar, Akbar, Anthony, a film she said she enjoyed immensely, as much as she did 'Happy New Year'.

So the statement has being blown out of proportion if it`s not a publicity stunt. It must be recalled that Abhishek Bachchan has being upfront in promoting HNY especially in theater advertorials.

The Mystery

Why senior Bachchan - Amitabh Bachchan felt the need to apologize to SRK

A diplomatic step to maintain` his relations with SRK

And if the reported text apology to SRK is true then what about Jaya Bachchan`s honest opinion. When SRK was asked on Jaya`s comment on HNY he has reportedly replied back saying, "The iconic movie of Amitabh Bachchan Amar Akbar Antony` was also considered nonsensical but it is now listed as one of the classics."

The apology part remains unconfirmed and unanswered adding to the mystery - is it in a way a publicity stunt...
