Not only he’s taking his responsibility as a brand ambassador of Gujarat seriously but he is also doing it with great sincerity and respect.

Legendary icon Amitabh Bachchan recently had been in Ahmedabad for the shooting of Gujarat Tourism advertisement. Dressed in white kurta pyjama and a cream-coloured shawl, Bachchan had visited Mahatma Gandhi's Sabarmati Ashram which is a part of the commercial. The experience had been quite enthralling for the actor and he had written about it in his blog.

At the Ashram and its premises, the star had walked barefoot all around. Not because he was instructed to, but because the sanctity and the purity of the place inspired him to do so. “I removed my shoes by the road and walked about barefoot, even though all others do not. It is not required that they do so but I could not somehow make myself to not go barefoot. The sanctity and the purity of the premises just prompted me to do it,” shared the veteran star.

Besides, Big B had also tried his hand at spinning the charkha. Referring to the process, the actor wrote, “It is a simple yet intricate procedure of weaving the thread and the extreme joy of having been so close to that most identifiable element of the Mahatma, overpowered all other thoughts.”

The 67-year old actor also wrote about the atmosphere, cottages, local people and other things in the ashram which highly influenced him.
